Screen Queens is Partnering with Women X Film Festival!

Screen Queens are excited to announce our partnership with Rianne Pictures on their upcoming event, Women X.

Taking place on Saturday 24th October in Darlington, Women X is a one-day event focused on celebrating the talents and potential of women and non-binary creatives within the film industry. The day will consist of workshops, a panel discussion, film screenings, an award show, networking power hour and calm creative space.

The event has been put together with the key aim of celebrating the efforts of these film-makers but also ensuring we inspire innovative emerging filmmakers, so we have a new generation of talent that are best equipped for success in the industry. With festival selections still struggling with achieving equality when it comes to director representation, Women X is ensuring that these filmmakers get their chance at screening their work and achieving recognition for it.

The choice to host Women X in the North East was made because when it comes to film events they are usually hosted in the larger cities, which is why we’re excited to sponsor this event in Darlington at the Hippodrome. Bringing an exciting opportunity for both filmmakers and film fans in the North East and surrounding areas. With a main line train station a three minute walk away the location also allows easy access for those travelling from afar.

This will be an incredible event that will enable women and non-binary filmmakers to learn, support each other and connect in order to create a whole new network of creatives that Screen Queens are thrilled to be a part of. We will be in attendance and can’t wait to network with like minded individuals who share the love of both film and supporting equality within the arts. We look forward to seeing you at Women X! Please click here to sign up for the Women X mailing list, so you can get your tickets as soon as they’re available. The festival is also accepting short film submissions until August 19th via FilmFreeway.
