Divergent is the latest YA series adaptation to take to the silver screen, following in the footsteps of The Hunger Games we’ve got ourselves a dystopian society and a fabulous female character as our main focus.
Divergent follows the story of Beatrice/Tris Prior (Shailene Woodley)who is turning sixteen, meaning she has to take the aptitude test and decide which of their society’s 5 ‘factions’ she will be placed in for the rest of her life. But Tris’ test is inconclusive and she possesses a special mind which authoritative figures like Jeanine Matthews (Kate Winslet) will do anything to eradicate.
Divergent will be hitting cinema’s on April 4th 2014 and its set out to be quite the year for Shailene Woodley with Josh Boone’s adaptation of John Greens novel ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ due for release in June.
